"I went to the retreat with an open mind and not knowing what to expect. For those that know me, I guess I would be described as a "fancy" camper .....RV with AC, shower, etc. Well, the HisClay retreat was much different, as we slept in a large wall tent and had no "modern plumbing". I guess you could say we "roughed it" . However, not too much as there were great meals cooked by our host in Dutch Ovens and we did sleep on comfy cots in sleeping bags.

The amenities were one thing, but the Christian spiritual intimacy was most impressive. I have been on many retreats over the years, but this one was unique, in that I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in a more personal way than ever. Why was this different? I guess it was due to the fact that we were literally out in the woods, cut off from the our normal surroundings. I experienced God's creation, untouched for the most part, since the beginning. I also shared this setting with other Christian brothers in a weekend that was lead by the Holy Spirit........no pressure........no preset agenda's.......we let God take the lead."

"My experience at the His Clay retreat in October was incredible. There was a perfect balance between fellowship, ministry, relaxation and eating (the food prepared by master chef Brian was exceptional). Of course I had some reservations about attending, but by the time the weekend ended, I didn’t want to leave. The setting along the Cannon river is beautiful and tranquil, an ideal location for this event. The weekend had a great “flow”, culminated by leaving all the “junk” in our lives at the foot of the cross. Everything that interferes with our relationship with God was left behind. I really appreciated the transparency and vulnerability of every man who attended. There was no fear of judgment or condemnation. It was all about learning how to be the obedient man that God wants us to be, and moving towards eliminating the “worldly” behaviors from our lives.

I believe Gods’ presence was felt by all who attended. One of those times in my life where words just can’t adequately describe my experience. You need to live it to feel it."

My experience with camping has not always been a positive experience. In fact, I hate camping. But, I’m very glad that I stepped out of my box to try something different. It was a great way to connect with the outdoors, with other men, and with God. The accommodations were 5 star camping. I would recommend to all types of men. Give it a try. You will be blessed by God.

The retreat was the first time in my life where the Holy Spirit moved me to put my faith and plans for my spiritual life to paper. This experience provided me with a "Daily Plan" to carry with me, directly from God. It was awesome!!

This was truly one of the best retreats I ever attended. It was awesome how God protected the base camp area from rain during the Saturday night worship......rained several yards outside of the camp on most sides, but hardly even a drop in the worship area!!!!!!!!!!! I know everyone at the retreat felt God's presence!!!!!!!! Mike did a phenomenal job leading the weekend!!!!!!!! Brian's cooking and hospitality was second to none. Also Brian, Keith and their Mom were very humble, gracious hosts. We are very blessed to have this site available to help men grow in their relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The retreat was truly that - a retreat. The setting provided an ideal environment to get away from everything and spend some focused time with God and other men.
